How does the tilt cab on a ford cargo 813 work?

Hiya Tracey......assuming the cab is able to tilt as with some horseboxes the body is built over the cab...some horsebox builders make provision for this by having a panel on the front of the box that unlocks.

Anyhow the cargo cab tilt is dead simple...find the jacking-pole located in the cab...on the end is two cutout shapes...insert those into the turn-screw located on the cab tilt pump located behind the cab low down on the chassis and turn the screw clockwise...this screw is usually left in the 'cab down' position.
once you've done this put the jacking pole into the pump and start pumping...you'll have to pump like mad to get it moving as the pressure has to build up to undo the cab locks that work by the hydraulic action of you pumping.after a minute or so you you should see the cab start to rise.keep pumping untill the cab has gone to its full extent..ie right over.
WARNING:
don't be tempted to work under the cab unless it is fully tilted as far as it will go because the weight of the cab witll be on the hydraulics and if they fail or leak while you're working under the cab it could come down on you .
ALWAYS PROP THE CAB WITH A SUITABLE PIECE OF TIMBER WHILE YOU ARE WORKKING ON A TRUCK ENGINE
