You can also remove the bar & chain, run the saw, and see if oil comes out of the port which feeds it to the guide bar. If it does flow out the port, you might only need to clean the groove in the guide bar and the oil path into it. Lube the nose sprocket with a needle point grease gun (a syringe can work) while you're at it.

Hi there. I had a problem with no oiling on my wild thing. I took it apart today and found that the oil pump gear was stripped. What you need to do is remove the chain/bar assembly. Then remove the clutch. (To remove, I made my own tool by taking heavy steel plate, drilling two holes and then placing bolts through the holes. make sure the bolts are spread out enough to grip the clutch.) Remove it by turning it in the direction of the "off" arrow. Once it's off, remove the two screws holding on the plastic oil pump cover. You will see that there is a white colored gear. Check that by turning it with your finger. There is most likely a stripped gear. It is held in by two metal pins that you can tap out. Then tap out the gear by hitting the metal shaft that is exposed (it has a little slot cut into the side.) Hopefully this is clear enough. Email me if you want some more help. roguegamer@hotmail.com

to check if your chain is getting oil point chain tip down at a piece of cardboard or something you dont mind getting oil on and throttle up the saw you should see a line of oil form on the ground within a few seconds. if you get nothing try checking the bar make sure the oil hole is free of dirt its above the slot where the bar connects to the saw. if thats clean run the saw with out the bar on and see if oil comes out of the automatic oiler hole it should ooze out, under the saw you might have an adjustment screw to change the amount coming out. and if you still dont have oil you can use some compressed air to blow out the oil hole it can get clogged when you fill up the oil and gas alot of dirt gets in to both tanks its hard to avoid. it doesnt take much to dull a saw blade so look into a file set its alot cheaper than a blade you can alot of life out of a blade if you sharpen correctly.
