Poulan Chain Saw - How can I fix it?

I have a Poulan Wild Thing. It works fine for about 4-5 minutes then stops and will start again after multiple pulls and run for 3-4 seconds and stop. Will not work again until it sits for an hour or two.
Has done this the last 4-5 times I have tried to use it.
Whats wrong?

replaced chain on poulan 42cc it's now cutting at a angle even when i hold the saw straight

Loosen the fuel cap and leave it idling for a similar time (time it) and see if the same thing happens.

Sorry for landing you with Electrolux, I was under the impression they still owned Husqvarna.

However Poulan are still part of the Husqvarna group though.

I cant beleive it somebody has actually impersonated me, obviously a very jealous Stihl lover, just to put the record straight neither Husqvarna or Poulan are owned by Electrolux, and however posted the last comments, get a life.

Sorry for being a bit trite with you, but I am naturally going to be defensive of my own products. Like you say Poulan and Husqvarna are all part of the same company. True there are better alternatives out there, but it's more then my jobs worth to tell people. Deep down Husqvarna are terribly made chainsaws to be honest.

Absolutely true, but no-one was insinuating you needed to:

a. "spend a fortune"

or

b. "buy a proffesional (sic) saw"

There are a lot of models within a similar price band for "hobby" use which are more reliable and dependable than a Poulan though.

Maybe it's because Poulan are part of the Electrolux group that includes Husqvarna that makes you a bit tetchy over someone questioning the merits of Poulan products Mr Husqvarna Man???

This is a very unfair comment, i accept Poulan is not the best machine in the world, but used as intended ( hobby use ) they do give good service, its horses for courses, not everbody needs to spend a fortune on a proffesional saw just to cut up a bit of fire wood.
