Hotpoint 9536 washing machine not spinning properly?
When it gets to any spin , it tends to hesitate and spin speed is erratic, sometimes not spinning at all .Then it might cut in at high speed making it jump.I have had the top off and if you wiggle the wires to the motor ,controller, pressure switch when it is hesitating you can hold it in a position where it will spin perfectly, leading me to believe it is a possible loose connection ,as it then goes through the program prpoerly.
it turned out to be the pcb on the back of the controller.solder joints broken at connector.Got new brushes as well. thanks ,jim

check the brushes on the motor. on a hotpoint this is fairly simple. follow the 2 wires going INTO the motor and you will see they just are just slide on connectors fastened onto cartridges which you can undo by inserting a screwdriver underneath and unclipping them. slide them out and check they are not worn ( the normal cause of this behaviour). they are cheap to buy and simply push into place, re-attaching the wires afterwards.
