Mend Fisher & Paykel 051 Motor Controller Machine

Motor controller on Smartdrive 051 (phase 2) blows?

Got a phase 2 Smartdrive 051 F&P washing machine. it blew the motor contorller a couple of months ago, so had a new motor contorller installed.
It has now blown another motor controller. The fuse inside the motor controller is totally blown etc.
When I put a new fuse in, the pump runs continuously and there are no lights at all on the display board. (this is what happened last time...) Any idea why the (expensive!!) motor controller would blow? Or are there any user servicable parts inside?

The fact that the pump now runs continuously suggests that the pump drive circuit was damaged when it blew. There is no way you will be able to repair it as it may have also corrupted the programme memory chip. Who installed it? That person should of thoroughly checked all parts of the machine for the reason that the 1st one blew before fitting the new one. If he was a qualified tech then the part should of come with a warranty so call him back. If not or if you fitted it yourself then you have wasted your money by not having the necessary knowledge to complete the job properly. Either buy another machine or get someone in who knows what to do & will guarantee his work.
