water flows into w/m but drum won't hold water?

Hi,
when I turn my Hoover washing machine on I can hear and see water coming through the soap draw but the drum won't fill and the water just keeps flowing. I'ts like the water is going in and straight back out again.How can I fix this?

ive put the same type of question on your site today and when browsing found this ..i went and lifted the drain hose,fired him up and great, it works!! you can now delete my question and many thanks for a great site, i shall certainly use it again,

It sounds like the drain hose is too low down, so the water is just running out of the mach. again
