hotpoint aquarius 1100washing machine stopped mid cycle wont spin or drain?

filter is in the bottom sump hose, the one attached to the bottom of the outer drum ,remove clip by squeezing the wire tails together making the clip expand.
drain machine manually first, into a bowl/bucket depends how bad blockage is (before trying to clear filter).
