Mend Potterton Lynx Boiler Heating Hot Water

Potterto Lynx, only get hot water when Heating is on?

With the heating off i get no hot water. I run the tap but the boiler does not start. If i turn the heating on, i get hot water at the taps. but is getting very warm now to have the heating running. Any ideas
