How can i fix my Hoover washing machine VHD 814?

My hoover vt d2 does not spin on its cycle when washing clothes

A big thankyou to Brookie, same problem with my machine, you saved me Hoovers call out charge of £115 (I've only got the 5 year parts warranty, so would have been £115 for no parts and 5 minutes work, I'm in the wrong business), thankyou again

Thanks for this. This fixed it for me - brushes were fine but I felt it was a motor problem.

Read your solution - slipped the motor back out and removed the cover of the speed sensor at the rear and found the fault as described.

Unplug the machine. Tilt the machine back and pull down the black plastic cover underneath. On the rear of the motor there are 2 yellow wires going to the motor speed sensor. Remove the speed sensor coil from the end of the motor by pulling it out. Inside you will find that the magnetic sensor spindle has just come out of the centre of the motor. Screw in the spindle (tight) push the speed sensor coil back in.
Hey presto.... it works fine again. (and it didn't cost you a new programmer @ £70 like I thought it was).

Have a Hoover VHD814 not draining (filters ok). Timer and 1200 spin indicator flashing slowly what is the problem
