Mend LG WM2487HWM Load Washing Water

lg wm2487hwm front load washing machine?

the washing machine appears to not be pumping the water out, which then stops everything else, my wife says an error code came up initially but does not remember what, no error code appears now but the washing machine does nothing but sit there and make a grinding noise, it appears to be coming from the pump/drain filter area in the left lower front area of the unit.
