How can I fix my Digilogic VCR/DVD Combi Model No DVDVCR2?

The display shows SAFE and we cannot operate the machine. How do we fix this.

To get it out of safe mode, hold down the power key on the remote for a few seconds,whilst pointing it at the machine. This should then clear it.
