The machine wont spin/pump the water away. I have even manually emptied the water out of the machine with a jug, and then when I put it on dry mode, the clothes seem to get wetter and water appears in the machine again.
If the drum isn't spinning you will need a new belt which are easy to fit. Have you checked the filter on the machine as there might be something stuck in it, ( bra bones and 5 pence pieces are the best). Both are easily fixable. If there nothing to stop the impeller turning you will have to take waste pipes off rear of machine to look for anything blocking them, normally socks. I have 2 boys and a wive so have done this fix a few times already
