when the washer has filled it swiches on the heater, if the heater is not working it will not move on and this or a broken wire to it is the most likely cause of your problem. there are other things that will cause this type of fault but rarely the timer, if you have a multimeter you could check that the element is not open curciut but if this is beyond your capabilities I would sugest a repairer. PULL THE PLUG BEFORE DOING ANYTHING
