Mend Matsui DVD100 DVD Recorder Timer

whats wrong with my matsui dvd100 recorder?

I am trying to record to disc dvd+r (its been ok in the past) but now a little timer button comes on above the minute section, then it cuts out of recording after approx 5 mins, can anyone advise me on whats wrong or what i am doing wrong
