Mend Kenmore 106.73202300 Refrigerator Freezer Defrosting

Kenmore Elite refrigerator is not cold. Motor cuts off quickly?

I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator Model 106.73202300 (freezer on top) and it's no longer cold. First indication was the frozen foods were defrosting. I can hear the motor come on but then it shuts off right away. The fan seems to be working. Sears can't come out for a week! How do I get it cold again?

Hi,

When you say the motor is running do you mean the compresser?
And also, which fan is running, the one in the freezer or the one at the bottom of the fridge? It the compresser is turning on and then shutting off it could be overheating. Check to make sure the condenser in the bottom of the fridge is clear of any dust or hair etc. Also if the condenser fan is not working that also could make the compresser overwork.
