My Beko American style Fridge is not producing ice and E8 code displaying?

My Beko American style Fridge is not producing ice and E8 code displaying. can I fix this easily myself or do I need to call someone out. Appliance is still under guarentee

Hi- no expert but this code appears to be the code for the ice sensor which is a very small sensor with 2 wires running from the back top of the freezer. I was going to replace this but when i opened up the panel inside the freezer the wire was snapped- this looked like a mouse had chewed it - as there is no danger of electric shock from this I repaired the wire and the freezer is producing Ice again.
