Mend Hoover Wont Stop Filling

Hoover won't stop filling ?

Make: Hoover
Model: 2300L 6.5kg

Hi,

My washer will not stop filling. The machine will stop filling when I turn the power off and leave the tap on. ( I gather this excludes the water valve from this problem? ) Could there be a problem with the vacuum hose going to the water level dial on the control panel from the bottom of the tub? Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards Chris

PS: I have replaced the vacuum hose from the outer bowl to the water level switch and still it wont fill. If I remove the vacuum hose from the outer bowl and blow upwards towards the water level switch it will stop filling and agitate. Could it be air is escaping around the outer bowl itself. I can not visibly see any leaks.

hi Chris
when you blow into the pressure switch and it stops filling and agetites then this is considered as functioning normal.there are adjustment screws or nut heads to adjust where the pressure will contact the switch to stop the fill of ur machine.

next the pipe that u say u blow into this time disconnect and pressure switch end and leave connected at the bottom of the bowl fill with a sufficent amount of water above the outlet where the tube connects to , switch off the machine now blow into the pipe if you get bubbles or hear bubble comming up then good sign.

if u dont get anything comming up and ur cheeks are turning bright red , there could be an obstruction within the outlet at the bottom of the bowl were your pressure switch tube connects to , use a thin piece of wire like a coathanger and insert into the outlet. reconnect hose and hopefully u can blow through with ease.

once you preform this test with success then connect your pipe back up to the pressure switch drain machine with no water at all, set your water level to low and refill, do not disconnect this pipe again at any stage when filling else u will have to drain and start again

u can visually see on the pressure switch the round white button that rises up when there is an increase of water in the bowl, as said before if an adjustment is to be made and the pressure switch allows for this then turn the screw or bolt head clockwise if over filling or anti - clockwise for less..

hope this may help u out sorry for any spelling mistakes ;)

good luck

have you checked that the bottle and connection to the tub is not full of gunk stopping the water level raising in it and activateing the switch?

Hello,

If you blew into the tube and it began to agitate, possible water level switch problem would be my guess. Since it is a new tube, there shouldn't be any air leaking out from a crack.
