Hoover CA232 won't pump out, triac blown + other parts???

I have had this machine some 2-3 years, and it stopped pumping out and spinning, I found a triac (transistor) on the PCB had exploded and taken a number of other parts with it including the proprietary Candy IC, any one seen this before? What has caused it? If I replace the module (£100) I don’t want it to do the same.
