Mend Westinghouse LT809s Washing Machine Agitator Repair

Westinghouse LT809s not agitating both directions?

Hi :) I have a Westinghouse lt809s, this is the 8kg top loading washing machine, it is probably around 6 years old. The agitator has stopped working in both directions, only moving clockwise now. It pauses and makes the appropriate working noises for the duration of the counter clockwise time and clearly 'thinks' it is working properly. I have checked for a broken belt but cannot see an easy fault. It may be gear driven internally? I am unable to easily access the mechanical area due to covers and inexperience. I am wondering if anyone knows enough about his model to be able to tell me if a repair is a cost effective option, or if the machine should just be scrapped?

Why do people post replies to these questions when they clearly have no idea and are just guessing. This is a Westinghouse washer not a Whirlpool. Westinghouse top loaders do not have agitator dogs. Wrasse I would say that it is a clutch problem. The spring in the clutch is not doing the job properly. Should not be very expensive to repair. Clutch parts are cheap for this model.
