So this started just recently, my daughters computer freezes like 2 minutes after being turned on...while its still loading everying etc. so i can't download or do a virus scan cause nothing works after it freezes...any thing i can do with out taking it to a pc repair place (money is tight). The brand isn't well known, its an Acer so maybe its just a crappy computer?
Try starting in safe mode and doing a virus scan from there.
To enter safe mode- while starting up press either F5 or F8 button continuously before you get to the windows screen then it will give you a black screen with the option to start in safe mode.
