How can I replace my Ryobi CS30 Starter Pull apparatus ?

My starter rope broke and I have initially remove the front cover(Ryobi 30cc String Trimmer).I have taken off the cover that goes away from the engine and towards the trimmer,but I can't seem to release the torque cover (aluminum) which is able to free spin left and right? Does it need a special pulley gadget? Or does it have a release bit I don't seem to see? The part i am referring to is the one that goes behind the ring guard. model #Ry30000A

remove the spark plug and put the pull string in it to hole the piston, then get a pair of channal lock pliers and turn it counter clock wise to remove it.

Remove the sparkplug and use a screw driver to keep the piston from moving. Use channel locks to rotate clutch assembly counter clockwise. This will allow the assembly containing the cord spool to come free

THats great but how do you get the spring loaded clutch off after you get the spindle off?

look down the hole of the free spining clutch wheel. You will notice a torx head screw. I bet it will come off after you take the screw out. problem is how to hold the piston from turning. If you take the rear cover off, you can see the crank shaft. I bet with a piece of wood, you can jam the piston rod agaist the crank

In order to remove that cover you need a T-20 driver that will fit down into the cylinder. That should remove the cover.
