How Do I Get Rid Of The Water In The Bottom Of The Dishwash?

I have moved into a house with a built in Necht Dishwasher and there arent any instructions on how to use it. I have manged to get it to work but at the end of each cycle there is water left in the bottom and it only empties when a new cycle begins does anyone no how to get rid of the water before a new cycle as it is making my dishwasher stink.

when ours did this it was because we had a blockage. took out the filter and cleaned it then poured hot water from the kettle down the hole. not very technical but it worked! good luck. Nicky
