Mend AEG Favorit Dishwasher Cleaning Detergent

how can I fix my AEG Favorit Dishwasher?

The detergent tablet will not dissolve from dispenser during cycle also water remains at bottom of machine and it beeps constantly. AEG Favorit built in dishwasher.
We have cleaned filters and used cleaning solution.

AEG AEG Favorit Kitchen Appliances, Dishwashers Dishwasher Cleaning Detergent

My aeg oko favorit 6050 dishwasher does not complete its washing cycle.
It pumps in water and starts washing but doesnt stop. The control knob just stops halfway during the cycle and doesnt move forward. Therefore the water is not pumped out and the dishes are not dried. It seems like something has gone wrong with the control knob? Can it be anything else ?
Can I myself replace the knob ? I have retired and dont want to go and buy a new machine.
Please help

check the holes in the spray arms aren't blocked with bits.If the spray arms rotate slowly it could cause both issues you mentioned
