Craftsman 14-in electric trimmer motor gets power but will not turn?

My Craftsman 14-in Weedwacker Dual Line Electric Trimmer stopped working. We checked switch and it works, checked to make sure there is power at motor leads when switch is turned on, but motor won't turn. What do I check at motor? This is a model number 900-74528 Type 2 120V 60Hz 5Amps 8000RPM manufactured for Sears.

Mine also did the same thing. I threw it out in the street and a bus ran over it. good riddance. then I went to Lowes and bought a different one.

then I went inside and ate dinner.

I have the same trimmer and had the same problem.

The wire to one of the brushes broke. I resoldered the wire and then the brush didn't make contact with the commutator. By rubbing the edges of the brush I got it to slide in the brush holder and now it works fine.
