Mend Sears 172-74533 Weedwacker Electric Craftsman

How can I fix my Sears Craftsman Electric Weedwacker, model 172-74533?

I bought this thing because I cannot start a gas trimmer. I have used it twice. The entire string mechanism comes off. I have tried to put it back on, and it seems to snap into place, but when I try to use it, the thing comes right back off. What do I need to do?

I had the exact same problem. Sears was no help,said they didn't know why it was coming off. Solution is tap the center of the shaft for a screw and screw the spool assembly to the shaft.
