one day i was using my amp, i had my headphones and chord from my guitar in the amp i was playing creeds one last breathe, then i took the chords out and the next day i plugged it in and it did not work it was a washburn.
This same thing happened to me i was playing my bc rich platinum series bich on a peavey amp and the next day went to play it it didnt work the best advice i can give is to get a new amp because the repairs i was told cost a lot more than the amp i bought

Hello out there need some assistance my Sony Amp is not pumping out any sound i suspect the STK4162 as i has inspected the fuses and the are well. My question is how do i measure or test the IC if its the one or not?

hi i have a sony amp [xm-2200gtx] and ther is no sound comming from my audio jacks . i think my speaker wires had to touch and short out my jacks on that amp .i have another amp hook up and it works find. my sony comes on green light and all but know sound i even tryed one side at a time and stil no sound is there any hope of repair .that i can fix or best left up to shop. thanks Harold

May be possible that if you inserted headphones, then contacts cut off speaker, and may not have realigned when you removed heaphone jack. If that is the case, spray either switch cleaner or WD 40 into heaphone socket, and wiggle headphone jack in and out of headphone socket a few times. This may resolve it. Good luck, Tim.

Re the silent amp Michael. it could be anything from fuse to a blown speaker or circuit board .... it's impossible to give you positive help here, you need to get an electronics expert to check it out for you.
