when i set the alarm and omit a zone should should the light show that particular zone

Hi Derek, Assuming the engineer code is default 9 9 9 9 do the following to set your zones to "security" mode.

press "Prog"
enter 9 9 9 9 (engineer code)
press 5 (zone configuration)
Press the number of the zone you want to activate.
Press 1 ( security mode for that zone)note, zero turns it off.
Press reset 3 times
Check the zone works with walk test, if all is well program in your next zone in the same way.

If you get any problems, post as a reply here, I will monitor for a couple of days.
You may want to check the backup battery while you are working with the system, if it is over 3 years old you should replace it, as a faulty battery could damage the main PCB, not to mention the aggro from false alarms if you get mains failures.
