john deere lx172?

anyone out there with a wiring digram for this would be greatly appreciated... john deere lx 172..

John Deere Garden Tools, Lawn Mowers John Deere Lx172

I bought a LX172 JD mower tractor. he showed me how he was able to get it running but i am trying to fix it right. he turns the key to the on position and then shorts the to wires at the starter and then it starts and runs fine. it appears to me that the ignition switch maybe bad to me. is there a way to check the ignition switch?

They have a parts directory and diagrams for various tractor components, like the drive train, engine, electric, etc.
