John DeereL111 mower deck does not engage. ?

be carefull with the pto , it will take your arm off , if it wants to, take the pto off the back of the john deere, and the decking away, start up the tractor, then engage the pto, get somebody to see if the pto shaft is turning, just by looking at it, from a safe place, if the spindel is turning at the back of the john deere, the the problem is in the decking.
