Mend Water Combi Eventually

how can i get hot water?

our combi boiler doesnt seem to be working properly. when we run the shower it takes ages for the water to get hot, and then when it eventually gets hot, it is too hot, butn hot, so we turn the temperature down and hey presto its ice cold!!!! any suggestions?
