Why does my Delica cut out approx 1.5 miles from home on 1st starting?

Why does my "M" reg Delica Spacegear (diesel) cut out at approx 1.5 miles from home after 1st start in am. No problems once re-started (takes a few turns of the ignition and a bit of patience?

I have had the same problem twice in about a year within 800m of cold start up, 1997 turbo diesel.

Hi i have a 306 diesel i have to give that a couple of mins to get warm then start it. Have u tried that? James
