soak the whole thing in wd40. take the cylinder head off(the thing with fins on it on the top of the motor) and spray it with wd40. try moving the piston slightly by yanking the pull cord(but dont snap the cord cos they are fiddly and time consuming to replace), then spray more wd40 in it.
turn the engine on its side but put it on a bit of wood so u dont damage it, and hit it hard with a mallet...not a hammer! (unless u protect the engine with another bit of wood) this should free up the piston from the side of the crank case. then keep trying to pull the cord. every time it budges, spray in a little wd40. before u run it, ensure u have got the correct mix of oil/petrol, or else it will cease again.
it could be a diffo matter all together, the engine might be fine, but u'r pull cord could be jammed, take off the 4 screws holding it on, and makesure it turns when it is not on the engine, if it does, put it back on, if it doesnt:
1: replace the cord (incase it is knotted)
2: replace the spring.
if none of this works, do it all again. it will make it work eventually, i use this procedure on all engines i get given to repair.
