my mini moto doesnt start....how can i fix it?

My dr 50 won't start unless I put petrol into we're the spark plug iss how would I fix it does it just need a new carb?

i have a small 50cc mini moto i did put some petrol into the cylinder when i took my spark plug out, i then screw my sparkplug back in and it cut off after a couple seconds could somebody really help please?????

I HAVE A FULL TANK OFF PETROL IN IT WITH A MIXTURE OFF 2 STROKE (25-1)

i have a 50cc mini moto and i cant putt the pull cord ever with the spark plug out i ride it for like 5 mins with a 3 min worm up and it just cut out so i tryed to push it home but the back wheel would not budge so i had to life the back up please help ( i know the gas is good cuz it ran fine 2.5 months ago. i also shaked the bike to remix the gas and oil

sometime people leave the choke on, puting the choke on if fine but only to start the engine but straight after it starts turn the choke off. if you dont when you try to give it some throttle the engine will cut out.

My mini moto hasnt been used for a while and wanted to get it running again the pullstart is fine without the spark plug in but as soon as the spark plug is in the pullstart is jammed i have also checked my spark plug its fine im getting a nice spark but when its in the pullstart is jammed if you could help would be so so grateful if you can help please text me 07849228241 thanks alot

i am a 26 year old mechanic i have a mini moto when i first got it it would not start . but when i fitted a new spark plug ,pull start and carb it started first time if your mini/midi moto wont start try buying new spark plug from ebay they are around £4.97 belive me it should start

never ever buy a mini or a midi moto they are very fun when they are workin which is never dont ever buy ones specially the chinese ones or japaneesse ones there engines are from chainsaws u spend more time fixing them than u do riding them tey are rubbish

My pull start has too much compression, when i take off the spark plug it pulls fine but as soon as it goes back on its really stiff again.. what could this be ?

chek the spark the plug light the top of it with a lighter and if it doesnt work i would consider cleaning or changeing the cluch cables :)

just fixed my mini moto
i cleaned the carb out using carb cleaner and got a brand new spark plug for it
and now it runs like a champ. most mini motos are made in china which comes with a torch spark plugs which are rubish thet hardley give of a spark. if your mini moto has not been used for a while spray wd40 in the head before you put new spark plug in this lubricates ur piston making it run better.

i am 15, i have fixed numerous engines on minimotos and midimotos, and i agree with wat 'OwlsMAD' is saying, i specialize in getting basic engines and making them into performance engines for other people, so if any of you have a minimoto u are selling, let me know , i now have 28 minimotos, which are have just about totally custom engines.

i have just bought a mini moto i fixed it changed spark plug, air filter, carb... got it starting 1st time every time and working perfect but now it starts about 4th or 5th time and when i pull throttle back full it cuts out why is that????

just drop out the engine, and take it apart (taking pictures so you can remember which order it goes back in, and it also helps if you label the screws so you know where to put them back, but any way if you drop the engine out and take it all apart then clean in all with clean petrol and put it back together

hi ive just recantly had a minimoto given but the petrol isnt going in to the carb ,i thought it would be the tap and pipes leading from the tank to the tap, ive checked the tap and pipes and still no luck cold any 1 help really frustrating

Seems to me your engine is seized up, only one way to possible fix the problem without buying a new engine, take it apart and lube the piston and crank with engine oil, the damage to the engine is mostly probally running it on straight petrol, it needs either 2stroke or 4stroke oil for a reason, to lubricate the working parts.

right i have found after working on five mini motos, that are raced at least three times a week, for two months. so i've had a lot of practice fixing em. main problem is the cheap rubbish china spark plugs they heat up and stop working totally (might as well push it if you use one) what you need is a NGK BPM7A 4 quid from e-bay wiv a gap of 0.65 use a feeler gauge, right this sorts most starting probs, and bogging. second of all the carbs are bad everyone knows but this is how you sort it. get a clear square performance fuel filter again 4 quid from our friend e-bay. now remove the carb fiddly but straight forward. clean it out by blowing the main jet clear. then undo fuel tap from the carb blow that hole out use a wd40 straw. put some petrol down there after blowing it clear. might as well check the tap, if you've done this much might as well do a good job of it. the carbs do work but they are tempramental, if you clean it well and stop dirt getting in there in the future. sum pro carbs have the tendency to break on mini dirt bikes thats why i sort out stock carbs. this is to help any mini moto on road or off-road as they use the same engine hope this helped someone

I have done all i have read here take spark plug out and oil inside and still no look i have had cylinder cover off and oiled and no look still. I have replaced the spark plug. Any ideas on how to get it starting?

soak the whole thing in wd40. take the cylinder head off(the thing with fins on it on the top of the motor) and spray it with wd40. try moving the piston slightly by yanking the pull cord(but dont snap the cord cos they are fiddly and time consuming to replace), then spray more wd40 in it.

turn the engine on its side but put it on a bit of wood so u dont damage it, and hit it hard with a mallet...not a hammer! (unless u protect the engine with another bit of wood) this should free up the piston from the side of the crank case. then keep trying to pull the cord. every time it budges, spray in a little wd40. before u run it, ensure u have got the correct mix of oil/petrol, or else it will cease again.

it could be a diffo matter all together, the engine might be fine, but u'r pull cord could be jammed, take off the 4 screws holding it on, and makesure it turns when it is not on the engine, if it does, put it back on, if it doesnt:

1: replace the cord (incase it is knotted)
2: replace the spring.

if none of this works, do it all again. it will make it work eventually, i use this procedure on all engines i get given to repair.

hi the engine would get clogged if you run the bike with out any oil in the petrol to un seize the engine 1: remove the spark plug 2: spray oil or wd40 in the spark plug hole 3: then remove the 4 bolts arond the head of the engine 4: pull the pull start to turn the piston the head should move a inch 5: then spay wd40 in the hole again and in the gap between the head and the engine 6: aline the 4 holes on the head bact to the engine bolt back up 7 then pull the pull start slowly it should become easy to pull if not spay more wd40 in the spark plug hole till it become easy then put the spark plug back in the head then a few pulls and it will fire up like a beast make sure you have the right mixture of oil and unleaded to prevent it again email me to let me know how you all get on
