Mend Accent 8 mini Alarm Battery Keypad

accenta 8 mini power loss?

After a power cut,i cannot get the alarm back on,after previous cuts in power i pull all power ,disconnect/reconnect battery,fuse in spur ETC and all is well,but this time i have reason to believe the battery is dead (installed 8 yrs ago)i have bought a new one and am waiting for it.The keypad shows power but no Day (green light)and all chimes and bells come on but the user code don't work,is this down to the dead battery,Please help me someone.

I am having a similar problem in a rented property. The alarm stopped working 3 years ago.. I went away for a week and switched electricity off at fuse box. I have just come home and switched the elec on and now the beeping sound wont stop, only if i switch the red socket switch off at fuse box. Help!!

try the engineer code... prog 9999. Also try the default code 0123 its possible that the system has reverted to factory default settings.
Battery should be replaced after no more than 5 years use, and certainly should be checked annually.
A faulty battery could cause damage to the system.
