Old Sony CRT set won't turn on. Same as Dave in Dec 2004?

I have the exact same problem as Dave back in 2004 regarding my Sony KV-27EXR20 TV. I brought it from another location and left it in my car overnight (New England cold). The next day, I plugged it in and it wouldn't start. Later that day it started and ran for ~1 week. Then 1 day it would not start again. It will sometime make the "ding" sound (degaussing), but nothing else. It was my mom's TV with a great picture.
