Mend Electrolux EL7070 Vacuum Cleaner Repair

How do I disassemble an EL7070 wand?

I have an Electrolux UltraOne EL7070 Type A canister vacuum and the wand no longer powers the power head. The power head works when attached to the hose grip directly. I metered the 2 conductors on the wand and one has continuity, but the other conductor is open (no connection). How can I disassemble the wand to repair this?
