Mend Lights Ignition Problem

Brake lights staying on with ignition on. ?

Brake lights are staying on with the ignition being on, replaced the brake switch as it was only £6 but hasn’t solved the problem.

If I have it plugged in and press the switch in manually the brake Lights go off. Has anyone had this experience and can point me in the right direction?

So. You have the switch in place and it works if you operate it by hand and it doesn't work if you use the bit on the footbrake pedal/whatever.

Maybe check that whatever it is on the footbrake pedal/pedal arm/whatever, actually operates the switch properly.
