How can I fix accenta 6?

I've just moved into a house with Accenta 6 installed. The power light is on, day light is off. Zone 2 is lit but all other zones are not. The box on the back of the house has a flashing blue light. I don't know what any of this indicates and the manual doesn't seem to explain. I've never had a security system and will probably never turn it on, so would be happy to just de-activate the thing, is this possible?
