How do I find out what the trouble light on the alarm system means?

you got it spot on acorn,we can do a lot of things,but mind reading is out,it puts me off coming to site some times when i read things like this.

Basic information when asking a technical question goes a long way to getting the correct answer without snippy comments.

The make of control panel is a good place to start.

How about having a look in your User Guide, the one that came with the system when installed, it'll be there.

Suggest you had a short power cut.
