oh dear what a useless answer , check your gear cables ? no , look at the ends and the cable eyes and the gear brackets , then watch the video on you tube telling you how to set the gear cables correctly , and do a gearbox oil drain and refill, and check the brass bushing sleeve on the yellow marked cable where the eye loop goes on to the gear lever selction arm pin which is what your gearstick manipulates when you go to select a gear , if the cable and bush sleeve move along that pin ? you have identified one of the issues, so you then remove the r clip , take the eye loop and cable off that pin, and take the brass sleeve to a machine shop pay £30 and have a new snug fitting brass sleeve made , i did , and yes it works fine, so it isnt just check your cables at all, it is pay attention and learn something here, which is the point of answering questions, some people just dont get it , but then takes all sorts i guess , and yes you can watch the video it lasts 3 mins 11 secs, on you tube by remobilise , and yes it is correct , you dont just fart in to the cable and hope it doesnt smell, you open the window first yeah , analogy there, even if crude makes the point clear , checking gear cables means removing lower dash interior drivers side, amongst other things,
