Mend Morphy Richards 330004 Steam Empty Water Full

My Morphy Richards steam elite 330004 says empty of water when full?

I fill the reservoir with water and switch the iron on and the blue light comes on indicating the reservoir is empty. The two white seals are in place as one of those has become stuck in the reservoir.
