We have a Tefal pro Express Generator steam iron. The front water tank is full, but the red indicator light is on 'saying the tank is empty' the button to release the steam does not release the steam. 'Iron is coming up two years old.
I also have a Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator which is almost 2 years old. Problem with mine is continuous steam even without pressing the steam button. I'm told the compressor has gone and will need a new one estimated repair is £40 - £100. Disappointing for a product which was so expensive to begin with and has given less than 2 years service, hasn't had a heavy workload, only two people in the house.It seems this is common. It's been a fantastic iron but would I replace with same again ? cost has to be a factor and Tefal it seems is the most expensive. Which? rates the Philips as the best buy.
