Mend Morphy Richards Steamelite Base

morphy richards power steamelite ?

Base is working. All lighting up. But iron not getting hot. Blue light not coming on on the iron itself. Any ideas guys?

If something electrical that's supposed to get hot remains cold the usual cause is a defective heating element - that is my idea.

I do not know the significance of the blue light - if the iron is separately powered then there may be a power deficiency - another idea...
