Makita bmr101 radio not working ?

When I switch it on it displays welcome Makita, I have tried all that has been listed on here with no luck (Somebody please Help !) if this is a problem with theses radios I think makita should have a helpline to deal with the problem or at least offer a free repair these aren't cheap radios and they shouldn't do this.
