Kenwood chef km010 running to fast?

Help
My kenwood was working, in use, made weird clunky noises then started running very fast, even on slowest setting. It'll only run for about five seconds, then stops with motor humming. Any suggestions on what to do?
Is it the switch unit that needs replacing?
