Wrinkles in lamination?

I have wrinkles in the film and it is not the film, it is perfectly smooth when I put it on the machine. The wrinkles are happening on the top roll. I have a really old laminator, is there any way to adjust the tension? I cannot find anything that resembles the tension knob. We do not have a manual because it is so old. Thanks
