Mend Brother 891 Middle Button Help

the middle button on my brother 891 carriage will not stay in?

I have an 891 knitting machine and the middle button on the knitting carriage will not stay in. Please can you help?

Make sure the underside of the carriage is very clean and lightly oiled. Check that all the buttons and dials move the cams on both sides and that the cancel lever really does cancel the settings. You might need to download a service manual. I think machineknittingetc.com will have one.
