first thing to do is let adjustment off handbrake cable, i take it that the adjuster plates were checked and adjusted when you renewed shoes.then you will need to adjust brakes through backplates,[make sure that they arent binding]to stop you over adjusting,place a 25 thou feeler between shoe and drum at the shoe inspection point on backplate till it just nips,] remove feeler and they should be free,then finally adjust cable.
