Mend Miele DA428-4 Cooker Light Hob

How fix Miele cooker DA428-4 hood light playing up?

Miele cooker hood DA428-4 hob light continually cycling through dim/bright. Cannot seem to switch off or stop it from cycling. How can I switch the light off, or at least switch it back to continuous bright and then switch off?
