Mend John Deere LA145 Replaced

john deere la145 pinion gear removal?

I have a john deere la145 that the steering sector gear and pinion gear are stripped and need to be replaced. removed the bolt underneath the pinion gear but the pinion gear wont budge to remove. I'm sure its something stupid i'm overlooking. Any suggestions would be great thank you
