Mend Renault Scenic Transmission Automatic

Gear level is locked - in N position?

Hi
My car is Renault scenic automatic.

Gear level is locked and i can't move it. the dashboard shows it is on N position.

But I can move it to M smoothly... don't understand why because it suppose to be in position D to be able to do so.

Any advice?
